If you want to make something for your guests but don’t know yet, I want to give you some ideas and the links of the recipes that I think that are the best.
In addition to this ‘Tasty Food recipe’ Christmas edition, I will also give you three links to drink recipes suited for this Christmas season.
Merry Christmas!
My top five Christmas recipes
- Christmas Turkey
Christmas isn’t Christmas without a Christmas turkey. A couple of years ago, my mom was so busy that she didn’t had time to make the Christmas turkey, so I decided to take over the job.

If you’re planning to make a dinner and you want it to be a memorable one, with some delicious food, you should definitely make a filled roast chicken. Now the recipe in this link is the same recipe my mother uses to make filled roast chicken every year for our Christmas dinner. It is so delicious that I travel 9 hours by plane, every Christmas just to eat this. At home we eat it with a side of rice and potato salad. Also, we pour a bit of gravy sauce on our food, but you can decide with what you want to eat it with.

Hallaca is corn dough stuffed with a stew of beef, pork, and chicken, fish or other sea foods in some places, and it is “adorned” with raisins, capers olives and wedges of fowl meat. Hallacas are typically served in Christmas season in the Caribbean. Hallacas are made in different size and you can serve it as snack or as side dish.

Quesillo is a traditional dessert from Curacao, Aruba and Bonair. Quesillo, meaning little cheese, is a dessert that can capture everyone’s heart with its delicious taste. There is different variation in flavour. This one is my favourite version of quesillo.

When I moved to the Netherlands and had to celebrate my first birthday here, I decided to invite a couple of friends over and I knew that my friends wouldn’t accept attending to my party without me serving some delicious cheeseballs. I was facing a huge problem because I didn’t knew how to make the Antillean cheeseballs, up until I found this life changing recipe I’m about to show you.
